Susan Haire, Vice-President
Susan Haire has worked as a technical communicator for over twenty years and is a founding member of STC Manitoba. She served on the executive for over seven years, between 1992 and 1999, first as chair of the Consultants and Independent Contractors SIG, then as President, and finally as Secretary. She is a recipient of the chapter President’s award (1998) and the Distinguished Chapter Service Award (2001), and currently serves on the Technical Communication Diploma Program Advisory Committee at Red River College.
Among Susan’s achievements are publication of several software self-teaching guides on subjects ranging from Desktop Publishing to WordPerfect, one of which became a Canadian best seller. In addition, she has been a finalist in several STC documentation competitions. Susan is currently working on a fiction novel and hopes to be published in the near future.
